Engineers Australia Engineers Australia is Australia's largest and one of the world's premiere professional engineering bodies, with approximately 80,000 members. Argon Technology is highly involved with Engineers Australia. Our personnel contribute our and their own personal time to this organisation to increase the quality and standard of living in Australia. Engineers Australia's directives and focus make them an ideal organisation to involve ourselves with to multiply and enhance our involvement and contribution to the engineering community and the wider community as a whole. Engineers Australia is the national forum for the advancement of engineering and the professional development of their members. They form the trusted voice of the engineering profession in Australia. Argon Technology personnel are active in Engineers Australia, holding positions in the Western Australian Division. These positions currently include; Chair of Communications & Marketing Sub-committee, representation on Division Committee and representation on Young Engineers Committee as well as involvement with many special events. This level of involvement is seen to ensure our currency and involvement with the engineering industry of Australia and enhance our ability to contribute to the greater community as a whole. Welding Technology Institute of Australia Argon Technology has proudly become a corporate member of the Welding Technology Institute of Australia (WTIA). This relationship confirms our commitment to enhancing and developing the level of technology in Australia’s manufacturing and fabrication industry and offers a direct link to Australia’s best technical welding resource. The WTIA was formed in 1989 by the amalgamation of the Australian Welding Institute and the Australian Welding Research Association. There are currently 350 member companies and 1,500 personal members. The WTIA's goal is to assist in making Australian industry locally and globally competitive in welding-related activities. In pursuit of these goals, key strategies are in place to: * Facilitate technology transfer to industry * Drive research and development * Provide a quality work force * Standardise qualification and certification throughout the country * Create the correct cultures for competitiveness The organisation offers a wide range of services to its members, including technical advisory, library, and information services. It runs seminars and conferences throughout Australia, publishes the Australasian Welding Journal and Welding Research Supplement, and conducts examinations for welders, inspectors, supervisors, technologists and engineers.
